Principal Qualifications

He began his career in the University of the Republic with Internal Practitioner's competition. He had this position as regular professor during three years, following by the Residence in Internal Medicine. He was Assistant Professor II grade of Medical Clinic and Medical Clinic Senior Professor III grade. At the moment he is Senior Professor in Continuous Medical Education Area of the School of Graduate, Faculty of Medicine, University of the Republic, Uruguay. He is also President of IMIA-LAC, Federation of Societies of Medical Informatics in Latin America and the Caribbean, belonging to IMIA, World Association of Medical Informatics.
1993 - 1995 he carried out a master degree course in medical informatics in Utah, USA, one of the most acknowledge departments in that area. During five years he was (the first four years with IDB funds) medical coordinator prescribes the project of informatization of Health Management of the Uruguay Bank of Social Forecast. He has been a consultant with funds of the World Bank for FISS project (Institutional Invigoration for Sector Health) of the Ministry of Public Health, in Users Identification areas of Health public sub sector in Uruguay and Systems of Information for the ASSE Departmental Hospitals. Also he has been consultant of the Pan-American Health Organization. At the moment he is the EviMed Medical Director, a computer and educational enterprising in Health, supported by Ingenio/LATU-ORT and for the Program of Technological Development of Education and Culture Ministry.

Investigation
He has worked in on-line clinical protocols, in applications of the electronic clinical history and on Health e-education in. His results have been presented in congresses and published in United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Uruguay.
