Regular Professor.

• Alain Valdivia, Prof. In Mathematics, Doctorate Student.

Topics

• Sign Definition, from a protein up to an epidemic.

• Top-down and bottom-up  focuses

• Dynamic Systems and Self Regressive Models

• Spectral Analysis.

• Non-lineal Identification

• Examples

 Objectives of the course:

To use specialized computer programs for sign analysis and familiarization
with methods used to extract outstanding information starting from
biological signs.

Ground

Sign analysis techniques have advanced steadily since the information theory
emergence. This focus is particularly useful for signs treatment whose
generation mechanism is not known. Naturally, as in the case of most of the
electrophysiological signs and macromolecular sequences, this approach has
contributed with great benefits to medical informatics in general and to
bioinformatics in particular.

With the development of the methods of non lineal identification and the
theory of complex systems in last years, the possibilities of signs analysis
had considerably been empowered.

Necessary Previous knowledge

Graduate of Biology, medicine or any quantitative discipline (Engineering,
mathematics, Physics). In any event, it becomes necessary to have fresh
mathematics knowledge from high school.
