Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Center of Information in Health Sciences of BIREME/PHO/WHO

Since March 1999, Abel L Packer is Director of BIREME, where he has been in charge of the development of information  systems for more than 13 years.

He has participated actively in the plan, development and operation of the largest projects in BIREME, as the Latin American and Caribbean System of Information in Health Sciences (a cooperative net with more than 900 centers of information), LILACS database (that indexes Literature in health Sciences of AT & C), LILACS/CD-ROM
