Setting of Informatic Development Policies in the Healthcare Sector

Integration of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) and the Ministry of Informatics and Communications (MIC).

1. Working team for computerization of the Cuban healthcare system:
    • Led by Vice-ministers of MINSAP and MIC, based in the University of Information Sciences (UCI)
    • Made up of the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Informatics and Communications, University of Information Sciences, Softel, Infomed, Copextel, ETECSA, Desoft, National Office of  Computerization for the Society and others.

  • Design a modular informatic solution for hospital management.
  • Assure the gradual development and maintenance of informatic solutions according to the new demands.

 

21 Objectives of the National Network of Nephrology

  • Computerize the Institute of Nephrology as Coordinating Center of the National Program of Chronic Renal Diseases, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation.
  • Interconnect the 47 Nephrological Service Departments with the National Coordinating Center.
  • Computerize the healthcare system of Isle of Youth municipality down to the level of family physician’s offices, in order to develop epidemiological research works for chronic renal disease prevention.

 

22 Objectives of Galenomedia

  • Domestically plan the production of educational software prepared in Medical Sciences using multimedia techniques, with the objective of raising the quality and quantity of this software.
  • Standardize a working methodology for the design of Educational Software instructions in MINSAP.
  • Make and standardize an identity for the project and its results.
  • Evaluate the impact of the Educational Software in higher medical education.
